Dr Ravinder Singh Rao has expertise in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure which repairs the valve without removing the old and damaged valve.

Successfully completed 185 TAVR cases in India. Highest in south-east Asia.

Work Experience

• Worked at Washington University School of Medicine, USA as a Structural Heart Disease Fellow from July 2014 to June 2015. During this period he performed over 185 TAVI procedures and many other structural heart disease interventions

• Worked at Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Interventional Cardiology Fellow from July 2013 to June 2014 where he performed many complex coronary interventions.  Also excelled in the field of PAD interventions and management.

  • First in Man case of TAVR( Aortic valve replacement without open heart surgery) in India using Indian Valve.
  • First Case of Mitral valve perforation repair in India. It was awarded as the best case in India in India Live 2017.
  • First case of WATCHMAN device to prevent Stroke in Atrial Fibrillation.
  • Invited to perform live Aortic valve replacement for the biggest Cardiology conference in India from Apollo Chennai in March 2018.
  • Invited to do TAVR in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka. First case of the country.
  • Performed the first Mitral valve replacement without open heart surgery in Rajasthan and 4th in the country.
