Anaesthesiology, is a branch of medicine that allows safe usage of medical drugs to induce a reversible state of total or partial lack of responsiveness to surgical procedures, so that they can be carried out smoothly, without causing any distress and inconvenience to the patient.

The Department of Anaesthesiology at Eternal Hospital provides anaesthesia services to all surgical specialties like   cardiac, renal transplants, paediatric surgery including neonates, vascular and endovascular, endo-urology and orthopaedics including trauma and joint replacements and gynaecology. Pre-anaesthesia check-up prior to any surgery is mandatory in order to decide on which modality of anaesthesia is suitable for each patient.  The department includes skilled and experienced anaesthesiologists who are also qualified in pain medicine including labour analgesia. Pain management is a sub specialty of anaesthesiology used by many medical specialties as an approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life for those living with chronic pain.
