Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring is a diagnostic modality that aims at detecting and assessing high blood pressure or hypertension by continuously monitoring your blood pressure for 24 consecutive hours. This is done with the help of a portable blood pressure machine which can be worn as a belt.

Major indications of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring are:

  • Monitoring of a pregnant patient with hypertension
  • Monitoring of borderline hypertension
  • Fluctuating blood pressure
  • Assess the efficacy of medication for Hypertension
  • Refractory hypertension
