IVUS - It stands for intravascular ultrasound, which is the catheter-based diagnostic modality that helps to generate real-time images of the coronary artery, giving the doctors appreciation based view. The technique helps to assess the degree of narrowing that has been caused by the stenosis by providing very accurate and reliable images. During the procedure is small catheter will be inserted inside the patient's body by making a tiny incision near the groin. A mild sedative will be used so that you do not feel any pain or discomfort. The catheter is guided towards the affected area using precise imaging guidance. An ultrasound probe fitted with a guidewire will be inserted in the catheter and carefully guided towards the concerned area. The probe generates sound waves, which bounce back to generate images of the structures. The probe is then carefully removed, why the guidewire is kept in place.

FFR - It stands for fractional flow reverse, which is defined as the ratio between the maximum amount of blood flow in a disease coronary artery and the theoretical maximum flow to a normal healthy artery. A healthy person is likely to have an FFR of 1.0, whereas an FFR lower than 0.75 to 0.80, is linked with myocardial ischemia. The pressure is measured with the help of normal coronary angiography.

Rota ablation - Also known as rotational atherectomy, it is the minimally invasive therapeutic technique that uses a small rotating blade to remove the coronary obstruction. During the procedure, a small stent may be introduced in the artery to prevent further blockage. The procedure can be used for treating calciferous blockages that have developed over a long period of time.
