Further, low body weight, family history of having the disease, decrease in estrogen levels at the time of menopause, excessive consumption of alcohol smoking and reaction to certain medications are few of the potential causes.

Gout is another orthopedic condition which is very painful and it usually affects one joint. Gout usually affects the toe, foot and ankle. Severe joint pain, sudden swelling especially at night are a few of the symptoms of Gout. According to the orthopedician it may be caused due to high levels of uric acid present in blood, seafood, alcoholic beverages, certain meat and certain medications.

Bursitis is an Orthopedic condition that is associated with swelling and irritation of bursa which is basically a fluid sac present between muscles, joints and tendons providing a cushion in between. Swelling, tingling redness of joint, severe pain, tenderness around the joint, stiffness are few of the symptoms of bursitis. Further, trauma, infection, rheumatoid arthritis, overuse of joints, change in hormones are few of the causes.
